Winter Wonders
Holiday Exhibition at the Monmouth Museum

Prospectus/Guidelines

A Juried Exhibition in the Main Gallery

November 20, 2016 – December 31, 2016

Opening Reception: Sunday, November 20, 2016 from 4 – 6 pm

Museum Statement:
The onset of winter inspires many emotions – the beauty of snow and ice, the joy of the holiday season, and the bleakness of long dark days, all contribute to our common experiences during this season. Winter is the coldest season of the year in polar and temperate climates and is caused by the axis of the Earth being oriented away from the Sun. During this time when Jack Frost makes his presence known we are treated to many wonder inspiring sights. But like any visitor who stays too long, as the frigid season drags on we are often desperately and collectively contemplating “I wonder how we will get through this?”.  In this year’s Museum Holiday Exhibition entitled Winter Wonders, we would like to see visual depictions of frozen scenery, holiday scenes and winter activities. We encourage artists to submit works that convey the winter season realistically or symbolically. Original works (not more than five years old) in all genre and medium will be considered. Artists 18 years and older may submit up to four entries and more than one may be selected. Exhibition inclusion is not guaranteed with entry. Please read the prospectus for complete submission details and entry fee pricing.

DEADLINE:
The ability to submit will end Sunday, October 16th at midnight EST.
