Join us for a tour of Lincoln Center to explore this iconic complex and to gain insights into its illustrious past and exciting present. If the stars align we may even catch a glimpse of a rehearsal in progress. Lincoln Center is the world’s largest presenter of performing arts offering 5,000 programs, initiatives and events annually with 30 indoor and outdoor performance facilities.

Eleven nationally and internationally renowned art organizations are housed in the 16 acre Lincoln Center complex including Juilliard School, Jazz at Lincoln Center, the Metropolitan Opera and New York City Opera, The Film Society of Lincoln Center, The Chamber Music Society, New York City Ballet and School of American Ballet, Lincoln Center Theater, New York Philharmonic and New York Public Library for the Performing Arts.

John D. Rockefeller IIIwas instrumental in leading a consortium of civic leaders in securing private funding and building Lincoln Center as part of the Lincoln Square Renewal Project in the late 1950’s and early 1960’s. David Geffen Hall (formally Avery Fisher Hall) was opened in 1962, David H Koch Theater (formerly New York State Theater) was opened in 1964 andThe Metropolitan Opera House was opened in 1966.

Following the tour, we’ll step across the street to the stylish and sophisticated Atlantic Grill for a fabulous lunch.
